Reading Global Intelligence
- Country shading
- How much intelligence ProcIntel currently holds about a country. It is a measure of coverage, not a country risk rating.
- Points
- Only records with a genuinely precise location. A record known only to a country is shaded, never pinned. Larger points are more significant.
- Developing Intelligence
- Every country a situation touches is highlighted — a situation is not forced onto one point.
- Chokepoints
- Curated, verified coordinates. Major shipping routes are ProcIntel-derived corridors modelled on observed commercial traffic (2015–2021) — never live lanes, volumes or status.
- Active conflict areas
- First-level areas where the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) recorded organised violence in the last 90 days, above a stated threshold. Areas, never incident points, front lines or forces. Being near one is a spatial fact, not an assessment of impact.
- Trade & transport disruption
- ProcIntel's own Events, classified by their type and evidenced place (a port, a chokepoint, a country's trade measures). The Event's evidence is the claim.
- Awareness
- A short, deterministic selection of what matters most right now across ProcIntel intelligence, disruption, conflict and natural hazards — chosen from significance, confidence, recency and precision. It is not a risk score.
- Time selector
- Events are filtered by when ProcIntel recorded them, not by a confirmed real-world date — most Events do not carry one. Signals are filtered by their publication date.
- Imagery
- Satellite imagery and terrain are background context from the map provider; they are not ProcIntel intelligence.
