Source-reported<p ><span ><span class="ckeCaption" ><img src="https://argaamplus.s3.amazonaws.com/4d4cdee9-56b7-454c-b035-1d6783d6d6db.png" >The MoU signing ceremony.</span></span></p> <hr> <p>Space42 signed a commercial agreement exceeding AED 25.69 million ($7 million) with Autonomous A2Z, the South Korean specialist in autonomous driving technologies, to deploy level 4 autonomous driving solutions across the UAE.</p> <p></p> <p>According to a company statement, the agreement marks the first commercial contract within the partnership between the two companies and is a direct, standalone supply deal, separate from the joint venture the firms announced to launch in 2025, aimed at supporting long-term commercial operations for smart mobility solutions in the UAE.</p> <p></p> <p>Space42 stated that pilot services for autonomous buses are set to launch using the "Roi" vehicle, owned by Autonomous A2Z, along with other purpose-modified autonomous vehicles, to conduct operational tests and assess demand levels ahead of future expansion to include demand-responsive transport (DRT) and tourist coach services.</p> <p></p> <p>The company added that the agreement combines Autonomous A2Z’s proven level 4 autonomous driving technologies and capabilities in artificial intelligence, geospatial data, and connectivity solutions, with the objective of enabling autonomous vehicles to operate in real UAE road environments.</p> <p></p> <p>Space42 noted that the agreement aligns with its plans to develop smart mobility solutions, including “Taxy,” its autonomous taxi service, which has completed over 600,000 kilometers through more than 20,000 journeys since operations began in 2021.</p>
