The NWSA is the second-largest refrigerated export gateway in the nation, supporting agricultural producers throughout the Pacific Northwest and U.S. interior. Evergreen is also one of the gateway’s leading ocean carriers for refrigerated exports.</p><p>The NWSA’s position as a major agricultural export gateway is supported by strong rail and intermodal connections that provide efficient access from key inland growing regions to international markets. Inland rail hubs in Minot, North Dakota; Pocatello, Idaho; and Wallula, Washington, give exporters additional options and flexibility to move their products through the NWSA gateway.</p><p>“The Northwest Seaport Alliance is a critical connection between U.S. agricultural producers and customers around the world, and the return of Evergreen’s HTW service strengthens that connection, <strong>stated Dick Marzano, NWSA Co-Chair and Port of Tacoma Commission President.</strong> “For growers in eastern Washington and throughout the region, having reliable access to ocean service and additional capacity during peak harvest season means more options to get their products to customers overseas.”</p><p>“Exports are fundamental to the strength and competitiveness of our gateway. Our combination of inland rail connectivity, marine terminal infrastructure and ocean service gives agricultural exporters an efficient path from the farm to markets around the world, <strong>stated Ryan Calkins, NWSA Co-Chair and Port of Seattle Commission President. </strong>“Evergreen’s additional weekly service builds on that connectivity and provides valuable capacity during one of the busiest times of year for regional agriculture.”</p><p>The return of Evergreen’s HTW service adds to the range of options available to exporters using the NWSA gateway. With strong inland rail connections, extensive agricultural transload capacity and ocean service connecting exporters to markets around the world, the NWSA provides agricultural shippers with the flexibility and access they need to efficiently move products from U.S. growing regions to international customers.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="paragraph-with--media_item paragraph paragraph--type--media-grid paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div class="media-grid"> <div class="media-grid__items"> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--media-item paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div class="media-item"> <div class="media-item--item-container"> <a href="https://www.nwseaportalliance.com/media/2577" hreflang="en"><img loading="lazy" src="https://s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/nwseaportalliance.com.if-us-west-2-or/s3fs-public/styles/media_grid_170x220_/public/2026-10/dji_20261022110326_0200_d.jpg?h=6eb229a4&itok=qhKkmjy0" width="170" height="220" alt="The EVER MACH calling Pierce County Terminal as part of the HTW service." typeof="foaf:Image"> </a> <div class="media-item--item"> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--media-item paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div class="media-item"> <div class="media-item--item-container"> <a href="https://www.nwseaportalliance.com/media/2578" hreflang="en"><img loading="lazy" src="https://s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/nwseaportalliance.com.if-us-west-2-or/s3fs-public/styles/media_grid_170x220_/public/2026-10/dji_20261022105946_0191_d.jpg?h=2b2bab1b&itok=-_MPaW4_" width="170" height="220" alt="The EVER MACH calling Pierce County Terminal as part of the HTW service." typeof="foaf:Image"> </a> <div class="media-item--item"> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--media-item paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div class="media-item"> <div class="media-item--item-container"> <a href="https://www.nwseaportalliance.com/media/2579" hreflang="en"><img loading="lazy" src="https://s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/nwseaportalliance.com.if-us-west-2-or/s3fs-public/styles/media_grid_170x220_/public/2026-10/dji_20261022110144_0197_d.jpg?h=eb585c1e&itok=n1zEGfTa" width="170" height="220" alt="The EVER MACH calling Pierce County Terminal as part of the HTW service." typeof="foaf:Image"> </a> <div class="media-item--item"> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>
