<p>Google Sheets now natively supports box and whisker charts, a statistical chart type that shows how a dataset is distributed. Select a range of raw numeric values and Sheets calculates the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, maximum, mean, and outliers for you, with no helper formulas needed. You can choose inclusive or exclusive quartile calculation and show or hide inner points, outliers, mean markers, and mean lines.</p><p>Box and whisker support also comes with enhanced Microsoft Excel import compatibility. Previously, importing Excel files containing box and whisker charts into Sheets would drop the chart entirely. Now, these charts are preserved on import with their data references, calculations, and formatting intact, and charts created in Sheets export back to Excel as editable box and whisker charts.</p><p><br /></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirJfIHjmtT5RL03OB1DewSHO5nnVEky_Di6vBlUvt0-GMca2ilMyPj4Fc54oQbnBzYPbuPylkKzFb2BbnqZrNOG8SGpALcjnpMBNpftdvLQ2G97NMzO2lvAN0Vk1mV4vPncCRyuoiWNj76ucT2y9Ku79Hp_dfrVSozV4XOUgyXTSI1yGi6MgmACeolNTg/s2048/Create%20box%20and%20whisker%20charts%20in%20Google%20Sheets%20-%206843.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1281" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirJfIHjmtT5RL03OB1DewSHO5nnVEky_Di6vBlUvt0-GMca2ilMyPj4Fc54oQbnBzYPbuPylkKzFb2BbnqZrNOG8SGpALcjnpMBNpftdvLQ2G97NMzO2lvAN0Vk1mV4vPncCRyuoiWNj76ucT2y9Ku79Hp_dfrVSozV4XOUgyXTSI1yGi6MgmACeolNTg/s1600/Create%20box%20and%20whisker%20charts%20in%20Google%20Sheets%20-%206843.png" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />User creating a box and whisker chart in Google Sheets</td></tr></tbody></table><h3 style="text-align: left;">Getting started</h3><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li><b>Admins:</b> There is no admin control for this feature.</li><li><b>End users:</b> Visit the Help Center to <a href="https://support.google.com/docs/answer/63824" target="_blank">learn more about adding and editing a chart in Google Sheets</a>.</li></ul><p></p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Rollout pace</h3><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li><a href="https://support.google.com/a/answer/172177" target="_blank">Rapid Release domains:</a> Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on October 22, 2026&nbsp;</li><li><a href="https://support.google.com/a/answer/172177" target="_blank">Scheduled Release domains:</a> Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on November 6, 2026</li></ul><p></p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Availability</h3><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts</li></ul><p></p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Resources</h3><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Google Docs Editors Help: <a href="https://support.google.com/docs/answer/63824" target="_blank">Add &amp; edit a chart or graph</a></li></ul><p></p>
