The Tribunal was directed, if it made an affirmative finding for any applicable class of goods, to recommend the most appropriate remedy to address the injury or threat thereof, considering the effect of the remedy on the affordability for consumers of certain vegetable goods and on food security.</p><p>The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, complaints about federal government procurement and appeals of customs and excise tax rulings. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.</p></div> <div class="field field--name-field-signature field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field--item"> <p class="field field--name-field-name field--type-string field--label-hidden no-margin-bottom field--item">Morgan Oda</p> <div class="field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field--item"><p>Acting Registrar</p><p>Telephone: 613-993-3595<br>Email: <a href="mailto:citt-tcce@tribunal.gc.ca" target="_blank">citt-tcce@tribunal.gc.ca</a></p></div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-background field--type-image field--label-hidden field--item">/sites/default/files/2023-01/potato-field-4357002_1920.jpg</div> <div class="field field--name-field-year field--type-list-integer field--label-above"> <div class="field--label">Year</div> <div class="field--item">2026</div> </div> September 9, 2026
