‎<p ><img src="https://argaamplus.s3.amazonaws.com/52062336-aec4-4a89-bffc-05d7852e6eca.png" ></p> <p class="ckeCaption" >The Qassim 1 combined-cycle power project has a total planned generation capacity of 1,896 MW</p> <hr> <p ><a href="http://www.argaam.com/en/tadawul/tasi/acwa" target="_blank">Acwa Power Co.</a> said it received two notices on Sept. 22 from Sidra One for Electricity Co. and Qudra One for Electricity Co., confirming the issuance of initial commercial operation certificates for the initial units of the <a href="http://www.argaam.com/en/disclosures/projects/details/projectid/1501" target="_blank">Taiba 1</a> and <a href="http://www.argaam.com/en/disclosures/projects/details/projectid/1502" target="_blank">Qassim 1</a> projects in Madinah and Qassim regions, respectively.</p> <p ></p> <p >Taiba 1 has an initial generation capacity of 1,272 megawatts (MW), out of a total production capacity of 1,934 MW, while Qassim 1 has an initial generation capacity of approximately 1,283 MW out of a total production capacity of 1,896 MW.</p> <p ></p> <p >In a statement to <strong>Tadawul </strong>today, the company said it expects the financial impact from the initial phases of the two projects to appear starting Q4 2026.</p> <p ></p> <p >Acwa owns a 40% stake in each of Sidra One and Qudra One.</p> <div ></div> <p >According to data compiled by <span ><strong>Argaam</strong></span>, Taiba 1 and Qassim 1 are independent power plants using combined-cycle gas turbine technology, with a combined production capacity of 3,600 MW.</p> <p ></p> <p >The projects were awarded to Saudi Energy Co., as part of a consortium with Acwa, by Saudi Power Procurement Co. (SPPC) in October 2023.</p> <p ></p> <p >In November 2023, 25-year power purchase agreements were signed with SPPC, with the projects structured on a build-own-operate basis.</p> <p ></p> <p>In May 2024, Acwa signed financing agreements for the two projects, valued at SAR 5.69 billion for each project, with financing tenors of up to 28.1 years.</p>
