There is also more than 200,000 tons per year of additional production capacity under development.<br> <br> Eco Green, established in 1993, will see its founding Scappini family retain a minority stake and management roles. The company will be renamed EGA Eco Green.<br> <br> Eco Green owns two plants in northeast Italy and specializes in the collection, sorting, and casting of aluminium scrap and dross processing, distributing about 70,000 tons annually. It serves over 60 customers in Europe through a network of more than 350 scrap suppliers.<br> <br> The company’s Villafranca di Verona facility collects, sorts, and distributes about 23,000 tons of aluminium scrap per year. Its Nogara di Verona plant produces more than 20,000 tons of secondary aluminium annually and houses a furnace with a nominal production capacity of 30,000 tons per year.<br> <br> EGA stated it is working on expanding the facility to add 20,000 tons of annual recycled aluminium capacity, with the expansion expected to be completed by December 2026.<br> <br> Emirates Global Aluminium is a major supplier of primary aluminium to Europe, selling around 600,000 tons per year to European industries.<br> <br> Notably, EGA acquired Germany's Leichtmetall in 2024 and, in September that year, also took over US-based Spectro Alloys, which had an output capacity reaching 165,000 tons per year after a July 2025 expansion.<br> <br> In the UAE, EGA said it is currently ramping up production at its new recycling facility in Al Taweelah, the country’s largest aluminium recycling plant, which has a capacity of 185,000 tons per year.</p> <p ></p>
