Upon successful testing, Borouge began gradually ramping up production capacity to supply materials tailored for medium and high-voltage applications.</p> <p></p> <p>ADX-listed Borouge plc, a subsidiary of Borouge International, is responsible for operating the Borouge 4 project on behalf of its owners, ADNOC and OMV. The project will add 1.4 million tons per year to the company's production capacity, making the Ruwais complex the world’s largest integrated polyolefin production site at a single location.</p> <p></p> <p>Borouge plc has secured operating rights for Borouge 4 and marketing of its products through an agreement with ADNOC and OMV, providing greater flexibility in asset management and enhancing long-term value creation without the need for upfront capital outlays.</p> <p></p> <p>Borouge 4 is expected to generate cumulative net profits of up to AED 1.47 billion during its first three years of operations and support annual profit growth at Borouge plc of around 10% once full operational capacity is achieved.</p> <p></p> <p>According to Argaam data, the Borouge 4 project covers an area of more than 3.4 million square meters—or 500 football fields—and commenced operations in early 2022.</p> <p></p> <p>Notably, Borouge International was fully established in March 2026 through the merger of Borouge plc and Borealis, as well as the acquisition of Nova Chemicals, making it the world’s fourth largest polyolefin producer.</p>
