Recommendations for what to do: Avoid staying outdoors and seek shelter (e.g. in buildings). Avoid being near lakes and rivers Be prepared for considerable and widespread disruption to transport routes, including road closures. If there is enough time: secure or store away outdoor objects. Keep sufficient distance from buildings, trees, scaffolding and high-voltage power lines. Close all doors and windows. Avoid flooded areas and areas at risk.
